Saraswati Putri Dewi, commonly addressed as Saras Dewi, is an Indonesian academic, activist and poet. She is a lecturer at University of Indonesia on Ecofeminism, Ecological Philosophy, Eastern Philosophy, Philosophy of Literature and Phenomenology.
She has written in various reputable Indonesian and International journals concerning literature, feminism, human rights, eastern philosophy and environmental ethics. Her published works consist of her anthology of poems, Jiwa Putih (White Soul), philosophy books Hak Azasi Manusia (Human Rights) and Cinta Bukan Cokelat (Love is Not Chocolate). Her latest publications are: her doctoral dissertation titled Ekofenomenologi (Ecophenomenology), and anthology of poems, Kekasih Teluk (Bay Lover’s).
Saras Dewi is also an environmental and women activist, involved in advocacies such as Benoa Bay Conservation in Bali.
JILF is an annual international literary festival initiated by the Literary Committee of Jakarta Arts Council (JAC). Just as JAC was built and nurtured by artists and for arts, JILF was founded by writers for the sake of literature and book industry.
