Almost everything we think we know about Palestine came from its depictions on the media. But what do we really know of the literary diversity? How does a collective and massive experience such as Nakba that became one nation’s memory reflected in the Palestinian literary texts? And is there a space for other themes to be represented?
Through this event, festival goers will have a special opportunity to hear for themselves from Palestinian writer, Adania Shibli, on how she placed herself on her nation’s cultural landscape as well as to the international gaze. Shibli will explore on themes such as her choices and experiences on writing that came to shape her voice, and what she aims to do with it.
