Keynote Speech by Adania Shibli
When silence or silencing happens, what form of knowledge that can come from such a situation? This is a theme that will be explored by two time winner of Qattan Young Writer’s Award, Adania Shibli, on her keynote speech in keeping with this year’s festival on ‘Fences’.
As a Palestinian writer, according to Shibli, silence is a part of the Palestinian experience, as well as absence of words and stuttering that came to dominate. And then came the separation, even a violent rupture. In such a situation, does solidarity naturally occurs? Shibli will delve into these questions to present her thoughts, not only on the subject of literary, but also for other disciplines.
