Literary Ecosystem Lab
Literary Ecosystem Lab is the festival’s attempt to answer the urgency for development of Indonesia’s book industry. With involvement of established figures in their respective fields, Literary Ecosystem Lab is two-days workshops that seeks to inspire new figures to partake in the industry as literary agents or initiators of alternative and independent bookshops.
The Literature Ecosystem Lab (LES) is brought to respond to Indonesia’s needs for the development of a quality network of literacy movement and book industry players. Presented as a series of workshops, the LES aims to help shape young professionals ready to take on the challenges of the industry.
There are four areas addressed in the LES: Creative Writing, Translation, Alternative Bookshop, and Literary Agency, each with their own peculiarities, conventions, and constraints. In the LES, prospective authors, translators, and professional book practitioners will gain valuable insights from trusted and seasoned facilitators.
The LES thus searches for Indonesian future authors, translators, and practitioners who are willing to open to new possibilities.
The series of workshops will be held on:
LES: Creative Writing on 13-16 August 2019
LES: Translation on 13-16 August 2019
LES: Alternative Bookshop on August 13-14 2019
LES: Literary Agency on 15-16 August 2019
All LES classes will be held parallel at 10.00-14.00 WIB at Goethe-Institut Jakarta, Jl. GSSJ Ratulangi No. 9-15, Jakarta, 10350.
